RNI BONUS
The Research Network on Innovation (RNI), together with the CDC Institute for Research (Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations), is launching the 5th edition of the RNI BONUS, which consists of four grants of €2,000 each, awarded to young researchers working on innovation-related topics.
The RNI BONUS includes:
- Two grants on the theme “Social Innovation and Development”
- Two grants on an open theme “RNI Topics”, aligned with the research areas of the Research Network on Innovation
In addition to the grant amount, the awardees will benefit during the 2026/2027 academic year from:
- Free access to all RNI events
- Mentorship from an RNI member
- Support for publication in RNI outlets
The awardee will be required to submit a report on the activities carried out thanks to the RNI BONUS no later than September 29, 2026.
Agenda:
- May 1, 2026: Call for applications opens
- July 17, 2026: Application deadline
- September 29, 2026: Announcement of results
Critère d’éligibilité:
- The four grants are intended for early-career researchers who defended their PhD within the past three years (i.e., since January 1, 2023).
- Applicants must be no older than 35 years old at the application deadline. Only the year of birth will be considered (regardless of month or day).
- The two grants on “Innovation, Territory and Sustainable Development” are open to candidates affiliated with a French institution.
- The two grants on “RNI Topics” are open to all candidates, regardless of their institutional affiliation, whether in France or abroad.
Application Procedure:
The application file must include (in a single document):
- A copy of the PhD diploma or the thesis defense report
- A Curriculum Vitae specifying status and institutional affiliation (maximum 3 pages)
- Proof of affiliation with a research institution
- A copy of an identity card or passport (page with photo, name, and signature)
- A research project description (maximum 5 pages)
Projects may focus on extending doctoral research or initiating a new research program.
The project document must include:
- A presentation of the research topic and how it relates to one of the four grant themes and the applicant’s doctoral work
- The proposed methodology
- Expected results
- A conclusion outlining the applicant’s motivation and how they intend to use the RNI BONUS
Selection Procedure :
- The winners will be announced by the jury on September 29, 2026.
- Each winner will receive a €2,000 award, presented at the Innovation Gala at the end of the calendar year, recognizing the quality of the proposed research project.
- Presentation of the project at the RNI Gala (December 14, 2026, date to be confirmed), either in person or remotely depending on health conditions at that time.
- Appointment of an RNI mentor to support the winner throughout 2027.
Jury Composition:
- The jury members reviewing the applications will come from partner institutions: CDC and RNI.
